It's all over the news. One of the worst oil spills in recent memory, the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has been called an environmental nightmare, and with good reason. Over 200,000 gallons of oil have been leaking into the Gulf every day. The lives of hundreds of wildlife species are gravely threatened by the oil spill. The clean-up effort is well underway but more needs to be done in order to contain the damage before the oil spill completely destroys the Gulf's delicate ecosystem.
When you enroll in one of EPAcampus.com HAZWOPER courses from May 1 through June 30, a portion of your course cost will be donated to Matter of Trust, a non-profit organization focused on creating workable plans to solve seemingly impossible problems. The funds they raise will go to acquiring the tons of hair, fur clippings, and nylons necessary to create booms to absorb the oil in the Gulf.
Also, various organizations are looking for hardworking professionals who are HAZWOPER-certified to assist in the cleanup effort. Now, more than ever, HAZWOPER training has become an essential tool in fighting environmental disasters such as the Gulf Oil Spill.
